Description: The cutter suction dredger Beverwijk 31 was involved in the extensive wet dredging operations during the construction of Richards Bay Harbour in South Africa. A total of nine large cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers were deployed. Over 70 kilometers of discharge pipelines and five floating booster stations were required for material transportation. The dredging volume amounted to a total of 170 million cubic meters.
