Description: The cutter suction dredger Beverwijk 31 played a crucial role in the extensive dredging operations during the construction of Richards Bay Harbour in South Africa. A total of nine large cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers were deployed, supported by over 70 kilometers of pipeline and five floating booster stations. The project required the excavation of 170 million cubic meters of material to expand the harbor and accommodate larger vessels.
