Description: This aerial view captures a cutter suction dredger in action at Richards Bay harbor in Natal, South Africa. The extensive dredging work was part of the harbor's expansion project, involving nine large cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers. Over 70 kilometers of flushing lines and five floating intermediate pump stations were used to transport the dredged material. A total of 170 million cubic meters were dredged to enhance and deepen the harbor.
