Description: The South African Fur Seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) curiously lifts its head out of the water and gazes at its surroundings. Living on the rocky Geyser Rock island, near Dyer Island, is a large colony of approximately 60,000 animals. This species of seal dives up to 50 meters deep and can stay underwater for up to five minutes. Great White Sharks lurk nearby, posing a constant threat.
