Description: The Bull Shark (Carcharhinus leucas) is foraging for food near a beach in Walker´s Cay. Walker´s Cay is the northernmost of the 700 Bahamas islands. Bull sharks are often seen in pairs, but occasionally groups of up to 20 individuals have been observed. Along with the Tiger Shark and the Great White Shark, the Bull Shark is considered one of the dangerous shark species. A unique feature of the Bull Shark is its ability to thrive in freshwater environments. Found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, Bull Sharks have a low flight response and may swim directly towards divers. These sharks can grow up to 350 cm in length and weigh around 230 kilograms. Their diet includes mollusks, rays, crustaceans, bony fish, and even other sharks.
