After a strong swell, a Bull Shark approaches the shark beach of Walker´s Cay (00003033)
Description: A Bull Shark, also known as Carcharhinus leucas, is on the hunt for food at the shark beach of Walker´s Cay. This island is the northernmost of the 700 Bahamas islands. Bull sharks are often found in pairs, but there have also been sightings of groups of up to 20 individuals. Alongside Tiger Sharks and Great White Sharks, Bull Sharks are considered dangerous species. They have the unique ability to survive in freshwater and can be found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide. Bull Sharks have a low flight distance and approach divers confidently. Their diet includes molluscs, rays, crabs, bony fish, and other sharks.
