Impressive jaws of a six-meter-long Great White Shark

Description: The jaw with the impressive teeth comes from a six-meter Great White Shark captured near Geyser Rock and Dyer Island at the beginning of the twentieth century. The largest teeth are 60 mm long. African penguins, cormorants, and a large colony of South African fur seals inhabit this area. The Great White Shark is the apex predator in the marine ecosystem, crucial for maintaining ecological balance. Recent research indicates that Great White Sharks undertake extensive migrations, with much of their behavior and habitat still a mystery. Despite their long evolutionary history and remarkable adaptations, Great White Sharks face significant threats globally, including human impact.
