Great White Shark off the Coast of South Africa

Description: The Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is an impressive and feared species of predatory fish that lives off the stunning coast of South Africa. Near the Geyser Rock, close to Dyer Island, there is a seal colony of approximately 60,000 animals. Every winter, large Great White Sharks gather here to hunt their favorite prey, seals. The seals are well aware of the danger and avoid encounters with these majestic predators. As long as they stay in shallow waters near the island, they are safe. However, on their way to the open sea for feeding, they must cross a perilous zone where the Great White Sharks lurk. The high concentration of these sharks in the region is due to the seal colony.
