Fascinating Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) as Natural Regulator of Seal Colony (00015333)
Description: The majestic Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is a fascinating predator of the oceans. On Geyser Rock near Dyer Island, a large colony of seals resides, visited each year by these impressive predators. The seals are well aware of the danger posed by the Great Whites and tend to stay close to the safety of the shore. However, when they venture into the water for fishing, they must navigate through the perilous zone where the Great Whites lurk. The high concentration of these predators in the area is directly related to the abundant seal population.
