The Majestic Great White Shark - King of the Seas off the Coast of South Africa (00015500)
Description: The Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is one of the most fascinating marine creatures, residing near Geyser Rock and Dyer Island off the coast of South Africa. In this area, it shares the ocean with a variety of other marine animals such as African penguins, cormorants, and a large colony of South African fur seals. As the top predator, the Great White Shark plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance in the sea. Recent research indicates that Great White Sharks not only inhabit coastal areas but also undertake long migrations, with much of their behavior and habitat still being a mystery. Despite its existence for millions of years, the Great White Shark has faced a significant decline in population due to human activities, leading to its inclusion in the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species in 2004.
