Impressive bull sharks and their prey in the waters of Walker's Cay (00003147)
Description: The majestic bull sharks, also known as bull sharks or common nurse sharks, are on the hunt for food at Shark Beach in Walker's Cay, the northernmost of the 700 Bahamas islands. These fascinating predators are usually seen in pairs, but can also form groups of up to 20 individuals. Bull sharks, considered alongside tiger sharks and great white sharks as dangerous shark species, have the unique ability to thrive in freshwater as well. They inhabit tropical and subtropical waters worldwide and exhibit a low flight distance. Divers should be aware that bull sharks swim confidently towards them. Their diet consists mainly of mollusks, rays, crustaceans, bony fish, and even other sharks.
