Experience the primal force of the stormy sea at the Southern Tip of Africa (00011271)
Description: The stormy sea at the southern tip of Africa is known for sudden gale-force storms with high waves. During numerous visits to this region, I have encountered storms with wave heights of up to eight meters. Sometimes, I had to wait up to ten days for the storm to calm down before outings were possible. The waters around Cape Agulhas are incredibly rich in fish, yet perilous due to the many reefs along the inhospitable coastline. Since the 17th century, it is believed that 140 sunken ships lie in the 'Graveyard of Ships' here.
