Impressive Storms and High Waves at the Southern Tip of Africa (00011291)
Description: The Southern tip of Africa, also known as Cape Agulhas, is infamous for sudden storms with hurricane force and high waves. During numerous visits to this treacherous coastline, I have encountered storms where waves reached up to eight meters high. Sometimes, I had to wait for up to ten days until the storm subsided and it was safe to venture out to sea. The waters around Cape Agulhas are teeming with fish, but due to the inhospitable coastline with many reefs, it is considered highly dangerous for navigation. Since the 17th century, over 140 ships are said to have sunk in the 'Graveyard of Ships' here.
