Fascinating storm experiences at Cape Agulhas in the South Atlantic (00011345)

Storm at Cape Agulhas in the South Atlantic

Description: Storm at Cape Agulhas in the South Atlantic Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, is notorious for sudden storms and gales with high waves. During numerous visits, I have encountered storms with wave heights of up to eight meters here. Sometimes, I had to wait for up to ten days until the storm subsided and it was safe to venture out. The waters around Cape Agulhas are exceptionally abundant in fish, but due to the treacherous coastline with many reefs, they are considered highly perilous for navigation. Since the 17th century, it is said that 140 sunken ships rest in the 'Graveyard of Ships' here.
