Fascinating King Cheetah Portrait at Kapama Private Game Reserve in South Africa (00012506)
Description: The King Cheetah, also known as Acinonyx jubatus, is a fascinating predator that is nearly extinct in Asia and highly endangered in Africa. With its long legs, it is the fastest land mammal in the world. This rare animal differs from other cheetahs due to its fur variation, which includes larger black spots that sometimes merge into stripes. At the Hoedspruit Research & Breeding Centre in the Kapama Private Game Reserve, both bred and rescued cheetahs are cared for and eventually reintroduced into the wild.
