Description: The Great White Shark, also known as Carcharodon carcharias, is one of the most fascinating creatures of the sea. In this image, we see a young Great White Shark swimming gracefully at the water surface. This small predator can be found six nautical miles off the coast of Gansbaai in South Africa, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. Great White Sharks are born fully developed and self-sufficient. They feed on small fish and squid and are known as dangerous hunters. Young sharks are cautious and avoid adult sharks to protect themselves.
