Description: The Great White Shark, also known as Carcharodon carcharias, is one of the most fascinating creatures of the sea. A young Great White Shark is swimming at the water surface, showcasing its impressive presence. This image was captured off the coast of Gansbaai, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. Great White Sharks are born already sizable and independent. Their diet consists mainly of small fish and squids. Young sharks are cautious and tend to avoid encounters with adult individuals.
