Fascinating Block Wall Construction at Ras el Tin Harbor in Alexandria (00093020)
Description: The construction of a block wall at Ras el Tin Harbor in Alexandria was a technical marvel. The floating crane 'Gamal' transported concrete blocks onto a transport barge, while the 'Floating A-Frame Crane' loaded blocks onto pontoons. In total, 859 concrete blocks were laid to build a 550-meter u-shaped wall. Various block types weighing between 52 and 87 tons were arranged in five layers from -12.60 to EL+0.80. A 100-ton portal crane delivered the blocks to the casting yard. A specialized team efficiently laid the blocks with the floating crane. Underwater work was meticulously executed to achieve flawless results.
