Baby Great White Shark in gleaming light

Description: A baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is depicted in gleaming light. This few days old specimen is seen moving close to the water surface six sea miles from the coast of Gansbaai, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. Great White Sharks are fully developed at birth and can take care of themselves from the start. They mainly feed on small fish and squids. Pups are extremely cautious and quickly flee when an adult shark appears. Only a few manage to reach adulthood.
