Fascinating Blacktip Shark in the Waters of the Bahamas (00007312)

Description: The Blacktip shark (Carcharhinus limbatus) is a fascinating shark species that calls the coastal waters of the Bahamas home. These predators can grow up to an impressive size of 2.6 meters and are commonly found in tropical and subtropical seas at depths of up to 30 meters. During the famous 'Shark Rodeo' near Walker's Cay, Abaco Islands, on the northern edge of the Bahamas, Blacktip sharks can often be spotted alongside Caribbean Reef sharks. Unfortunately, due to overfishing, the populations of these captivating creatures have significantly declined worldwide, leading them to be classified as endangered shark species. Blacktip sharks primarily feed on sardines, herrings, mackerels, flatfish, and other fish species.
