Description: The majestic whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) glides gracefully through the clear waters of the coral reef off Beqa Lagoon on the Fijian island of Viti Levu. With a grey-brown base color and an average length of about 160 cm, this shark is known for its distinctive appearance. Its striking white tips on the first dorsal fin and the tail fin give it an elegant look. Whitetip reef sharks mainly feed on bony fish that inhabit the reefs, making them a captivating species that enriches the underwater world.
