An Impressive Underwater Encounter: Blacktip Reef Shark, Whitetip Reef Shark, and Diver (00021247)
Description: The blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) is a fascinating creature of the seas. With a maximum length of 160 cm, gray-brown coloring, and distinct black fin tips, it is a striking sight. This shark often inhabits the tidal zone and can be found in very shallow waters. It is almost always present at Shark Reef. In contrast, the whitetip reef shark reaches a length of about 200 cm and is characterized by its white tips on the first dorsal fin and the tail fin. This species primarily feeds on reef fish.
