These breaking waves pose a constant danger and are among the most powerful surges on Earth. Even the nautical handbook warns of the force of these breakers. This awe-inspiring natural phenomenon can be observed throughout the year. Often, the waves reach up to the crane and can even reach the operator's cabin of the Manitowoc crane. During times of extreme winds that endanger the crane, the Manitowoc must be moved to a safe area.
