Description: The cutter suction dredger Beverwijk 31 is part of the extensive dredging operations for the expansion of Richards Bay Harbour in Natal, South Africa. Nine large cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers were deployed, along with over 70 kilometers of discharge pipelines and five floating booster stations. A total of 170 million cubic meters of material had to be excavated to upgrade the port facilities and enhance maritime traffic.
