Description: The Cutter Suction Dredger Beverwijk 31 played a crucial role in the construction of Richards Bay Harbour in South Africa. Nine large cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers were deployed for extensive dredging operations. Over 70 kilometers of pipeline and five floating intermediate pump stations were used to transport the dredged materials. A total of 170 million cubic meters of earth had to be excavated to build the harbor.
