Description: The cutter suction dredger Beverwijk 31 played a crucial role in the extensive dredging operations during the construction of Richards Bay Harbor in Natal, South Africa. A total of nine large cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers were deployed for the project. Over 70 kilometers of pipeline and five floating booster stations were used for the transportation of dredged materials. The total dredging volume reached a staggering 170 million cubic meters.
