Description: Together with the Tiger Shark and the White Shark, the Bull Shark (Carcharhinus leucas) belongs to the dangerous sharks. It often stays in the shallow water near the shore and in the estuaries of rivers. Here in the shallow-water area, the underwater visibility is severely limited by sand whirls, even with low swell. A specialty of the Bull Shark is that it can also live in fresh water. In Africa, Central America and South America it is found far into the heartland of lakes and rivers. The Bull Shark is a sturdy heavyweight and is found in tropical and subtropical waters all over the world. They feed on molluscs, rays, cancers, bone fish and sharks.
