Description: Bull shark/Carcharhinus leucas Majestic bull sharks in the waters of Walker´s Cay The majestic bull sharks roam the waters off Walker's Cay, the northernmost of the 700 Bahamas islands, in search of food. These fascinating creatures are often seen in pairs, but occasionally groups of up to 20 individuals can be observed. Along with the Tiger Shark and the White Shark, the Bull Shark is considered one of the dangerous shark species. A unique feature of the Bull Shark is its ability to survive in freshwater. These impressive predators are found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide and can grow up to 350 cm in length and weigh around 230 kilograms. With a birth size of approximately 75 cm, bull sharks feed on a variety of prey, including mollusks, rays, crustaceans, bony fish, and even other sharks.
