Description: The Bull Shark (Carcharhinus leucas) is a formidable predator, as showcased here with a fish bait at Shark Beach on Walker´s Cay, the northernmost of the 700 Bahamas islands. These impressive creatures are often seen in pairs, but groups of up to 20 Bull Sharks have been spotted. Alongside the Tiger Shark and the Great White Shark, the Bull Shark is considered one of the dangerous shark species. A notable trait of the Bull Shark is its ability to thrive in freshwater. Found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, Bull Sharks can grow up to 350 cm in length and weigh around 230 kilograms. Their diet includes mollusks, rays, crustaceans, bony fish, and even other sharks.
