Description: The Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is one of the most fascinating and feared creatures in the ocean. This young specimen was spotted near the coast of Gansbaai and Dyer Island. Great White Sharks are self-sufficient from birth, feeding on smaller fish and squids. Despite being the top predator, they are endangered and face numerous threats in a human-altered environment.
