Impressive Great White Shark in seal colony hunting for prey (00015372)

Great White Shark near the water surface

Description: The Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is a fascinating and majestic creature swimming near the water surface. On Geyser Rock, close to Dyer Island, there is a large seal colony that attracts these impressive predators every year. These Great White Sharks are feared hunters, with seals being their favorite prey. The seals, in turn, try to avoid encounters with the sharks by staying in shallow waters near the island. However, when they venture out into the open sea for fishing, they must cross a dangerous zone where the Great Whites await. The high concentration of these sharks in this area is due to the presence of the seal colony.
