Encounter with a young Great White Shark near Dyer Island (00010416)
Description: The young Great White Shark, also known as Carcharodon carcharias, is roaming six nautical miles off the coast of Gansbaai in South Africa, near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. These fascinating marine creatures are born between 1.10 and 1.60 meters in length and are fully developed. They are solitary predators, primarily feeding on small fish and squid. Despite their size and power, young Great White Sharks are extremely cautious and tend to avoid adult individuals.
