Fascinating African Wild Dogs in the Savanna

Description: The African Wild Dogs, scientifically known as Lycaon pictus, are fascinating predators known for their unique appearance and social behavior. These rare animals have a striking spotted coat and live in packs in the bush and tree-filled savannas south of the Sahara. Adult African Wild Dogs reach a shoulder height of 60 to 70 centimeters and weigh between 15 and 30 kilograms. Despite their beauty, they are highly endangered and are mainly protected in large wildlife reserves.
