Description: The African Wild Dog, scientifically known as Lycaon pictus, is a fascinating large carnivore that inhabits the bush and tree-covered savannas of Africa south of the Sahara. With their distinctive spotted coats, these animals are also known as Painted Dogs. Adult African Wild Dogs reach a shoulder height of 60 to 70 centimeters and weigh between 15 and 30 kilograms.
