Description: The Baby Great White Shark, scientifically known as Carcharodon carcharias, is just a few days old and is swimming close to the water surface near Gansbaai and Dyer Island in the Western Cape, South Africa. These incredible creatures are born fully developed, measuring between 1.10 and 1.60 meters in length. Their diet mainly consists of small fish and squids. Young sharks like this one are extremely cautious and will immediately flee at the sight of an adult shark. Only a few will make it to adulthood.
