Baby Great White Shark searching for prey off the coast of Gansbaai

Description: The Baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is on a hunt for prey six sea miles off the coast of Gansbaai in South Africa. Near Dyer Island and Gyser Rock, the few days old shark carefully moves just below the water surface. Great White Sharks are born fully developed, measuring 1.10 to 1.60 meters in length. Their diet consists mainly of smaller fish and squids. Pups are very cautious and quickly retreat upon encountering adult sharks to ensure their survival.
