Young Great White Shark near Gansbaai

Description: The young Great White Shark, also known as Carcharodon carcharias, was spotted near Gansbaai, South Africa. This few days old pup moves cautiously below the water surface and measures between 1.10 to 1.60 meters in length. Great White Sharks are fully developed and self-sufficient at birth. Their diet mainly consists of small fish and squids. Pups are timid and flee when adult sharks appear. Only a few survive to adulthood.
