Description: The Blacktip Reef Shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) is a species of shark found in the tropical coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. With a maximum length of 160 cm, this shark is characterized by its grey-brown coloration and the distinct black tips on its fins. It prefers shallow, coastal waters and is often found in the intertidal zone. Juveniles tend to inhabit shallow sandy areas, while adults are commonly found near reef ledges and drop-offs.
