Description: The blacktip reef shark, scientifically known as Carcharhinus melanopterus, is a fascinating inhabitant of the oceans. With a maximum length of 160 cm and its gray-brown base color, it is an imposing sight. The black tips on its fins, especially on the tail fin, make it easily recognizable. This shark prefers the tidal zone and can often be observed in shallow water. Divers have the opportunity to experience these breathtaking animals up close, as on the Shark Reef in Beqa Lagoon, Fiji.
