Description: The Cutter Suction Dredger Beverwijk 31 plays a crucial role in the construction of Richards Bay Harbour in Natal, South Africa. Nine impressive cutter suction dredgers and two hopper dredgers were deployed to carry out extensive dredging works. Over 70 kilometers of pipeline and five floating intermediate pump stations were necessary for the efficient transportation of dredged materials. A total of 170 million cubic meters of earth had to be excavated to complete the harbor.
