Description: The African Wild Dogs, scientifically known as Lycaon pictus, are majestic animals that inhabit the bushy and tree-filled savannas of Africa south of the Sahara. Their scientific name means 'Painted Wolf' and refers to the unique spotted coat of these elegant predators. Adult wild dogs reach a shoulder height of 60 to 70 centimeters and weigh between 15 and 30 kilograms. Unfortunately, they are critically endangered and are mainly found in large wildlife reserves.
