Description: The Baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is only a few days old and embarks on a hunt for prey in the waters near Gansbaai, close to Dyer Island and Gyser Rock. Great White Sharks are fully developed at birth, ranging from 1.10 to 1.60 meters in length, and are self-sufficient. They feed on small fish and squids. Young pups are very cautious and quickly flee at the sight of an adult shark. Only a few manage to reach adulthood.
