Baby Great White Shark exploring the surroundings

Description: The baby Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) curiously explores its surroundings in the clear waters off the coast of Gansbaai in South Africa. Only a few days old, it already measures 1.10 to 1.60 meters in length and is completely independent. These fascinating predators feed on small fish and squids. Their caution is evident as they quickly disappear at the sight of an adult shark. Only a few of these young sharks make it to adulthood.
