Description: The Cape Cobra, also known as Naja nivea, is a fascinating and dangerous snake species that we encountered in the remote Gansbaai Mountains in the Western Cape, South Africa. This venomous snake can grow up to 2.1 meters in length and has the ability to raise its hood to appear threatening. Its habitat ranges from dry, rocky areas to sandy riverbeds. The venom of the Cape Cobra is among the most potent snake venoms and can be deadly within minutes.
