Description: The African Elephant (Loxodonta africana) is the largest land animal on Earth and captivates with its majestic presence. There are two subspecies: the Savanna Elephant (Loxodonta africana africana) and the Forest Elephant (Loxodonta africana cyclotis). The Savanna Elephant inhabits the dry forests and savannas of Africa, standing nearly three meters tall and weighing up to 7.5 tons. Despite international bans on ivory trade, habitat loss due to agricultural expansion remains a significant threat to these magnificent creatures.
